One driver's license, pls!

Well, it is time for my son to take a driver's license! That means a lot of patience from my side and a lot of time for him behind the wheel as well as behind the books! We started out on our small street and around the neighborhood managing the courage to take the leap and go on a wider circle; to the store, the post-office or the library. Of course also the usual tour round and round on a parking lot to learn how the car works...

The other day he came to my work after school and drove all the way home. It went very well and I hope we can make this a nice routine the days we finish job/school at the same time. Our new favorite thing to do in the car is to ask each other about all the different traffic signs! There really are a lot of them to keep track of and this is a fun way to learn, even I get an update. Another simple way is to practice and do tests regularly on internet. We found this page www.korkort.se that is awesome with a lot of different tests and good information for everything one need to know!

The Invitation

I have this truly wonderful poem that I've carried with me and it has brought me both inspiration and comfort for years. I have shared it only with a few very special friends but now I thought I'd put it here.

It's called the Invitation, the writers name is Oriah and I believe she's Canadian. A very talented poet as well as a very beautiful soul with an insight that not many possesses. Strong and fragile at the same time.

The Invitation

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.


It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.


I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.


It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me

the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.


I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

or how much money you have.

after the night of grief and despair

It´s already a new year. Again. Time passes fast and sometimes it seems like twelve months is nothing.
