SLS Miami

For his new hotel, that launched in May, the one & only Mr Phillipe Starck took some design-help from the musician/actor Lenny Kravitz but otherwise the hotel is rendered with the imaginative and bizarre lens of Starck. There are rooms channeling the ghost of Madame de Pompadour, a bar with a giant bullhead, and a lobby with vintage camping trip images on the walls. The quirky interior is certain to be a major draw.

The restaurant "The Bazaar" has a menu that blends tradition and ingenuity in true Spanish style mixed with influences from South Beach’s local Latin flavors. In charge in the kitchen is the James Beard award-winning Chef José Andrés.

The other restaurant "Katsuya" by Starck South Beach infuses traditional Japanese cuisine with a provocative twist. Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, whose acclaimed sushi bars have been recipients of top Zagat ratings for years, unleashes his culinary artistry onto South Beach with a menu of innovative sushi and robata dishes.
